We are in school and our lovely students are on their phones. How can I get my amazing students to show me how amazing they are? It’s time for some ice breakers. My icebreakers start with getting to know the students. Then we transition to community building. My goal is to build a community in the classroom in September. Lessons on empathy can be helpful. Empathy teaches students to imagine they were in someone else’s shoes and how they will feel. Students can role play a scenario in groups and discuss the outcomes.
